The Agreement will introduce standard conditions to apply across the entire Council workforce and will provide some Council employees with a substantial pay rise.
"This is a significant step forward for the Council. It will introduce a set of fair and consistent conditions for all Council employees and provides us with flexibility to build our skills and capacity for the future" Mayor Joseph Elu said.
The Certified agreement is the foundation document that provides determined classifications, reporting structures and ensures our workforce is getting their legal employment entitlements.
"The Certified Agreement will be voted on in 14 days, the next step is support the Certified Agreement with detailed position descriptions, professional development incentives and a rigid Code of Conduct to strengthen our workforce for the future" Mr Elu said.
The CEO for the NPARC, Stuart Duncan said: "The negotiation of the Certified Agreement provides council with accurate wage costs for the budget process, and we hope to have the Certified Agreement before the Industrial Relations Commission before Christmas"
