The students at Tagai State College - Thursday Island Primary Campus have proven they have the biggest hearts when it comes to fundraising for the Heart Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart Program. This school has shown they have the skipping and fundraising knack, raising an impressive $ $ 6,371.15 for the Heart Foundation.

Students at Tagai College help raising funds for the Heart Foundation while enjoying some exercise.
The result places Tagai as one of the top 10 best fundraising schools across all of Queensland.
Jump Rope for Heart Coordinator Marik-Ka Fitzgerald, said she was proud of her students passion for fundraising and their excellent skipping ability.
Miss Fitzgerald added, The program is easy to implement into our SMART moves lessons, and the best thing about skipping, is that skills can be adapted to suit students from prep up to year 7. Skipping can be as simple or advanced as you like, and it s a fantastic vehicle for building confidence and fitness levels. It is also a great outlet to channel energy in a positive way.
The skipping culture that has formed over the years at Tagai State College - Thursday Island Primary Campus is evident. Everywhere you look during school breaks, children from across the school are skipping mad, commented Miss Fitzgerald. It is a fantastic initiative and ticks all the boxes. The children get so much joy out of it, she said.
Students of Tagai State College - Thursday Island Primary Campus, thoroughly enjoyed upholding the strong fundraising tradition of their school by supporting the Heart Foundation’s JRFH program. Predominantly donations were collected from family and friends, sporting teams and parent-supervised neighborhood door-knocking.
