Sea Things, a project through Red Room Company, aims to build on Australia’s maritime poetry tradition in a contemporary context, imagining the nation’s sea history through new work that can be shared nationally and internationally through print, audio, film and web forms.
A free community event was held at the Gab Titui Cultural Centre where the children read their poems including Tasmanian poet, Graeme Miles, who read his poem that was commissioned for this project.
The duffle bags, containing the final works, were flown to Sydney for a finale performance in Sydney on November 26.
